We recommend staying in byron bay town, or (maybe) around the corner in Wategos.*
we’re staying behind clarkes beach close to the venue – ‘the beach’ restaurant.
The welcome drinks & wedding will be located in the main town, as will the pick-up stop for the buses for the recovery lunch on Sunday.
wait times for taxis can be longer in byron than you may be used to, so it’s great to be able to walk between locations.
*A note on wategos beach – it’s spectacular, but, while it’s possible to walk in and out of wategos the incline is steep so most people prefer to catch taxis in & out.

We love your kids! However, so that you’re able to relax and enjoy yourself, we kindly request that children – aside from babes in arms – don’t attend the welcome drinks & reception.
if your kids are joining you in Byron, We may be able to assist with nearby babysitting during these events. If you need assistance with childcare arrangements, please let us know in the RSVp form below.
kids are welcome to join the recovery pizza party.
if you stay in the town of byron bay you shouldn’t need a car. shuttles and taxis are available from each of the nearby airports, and the welcome drinks and wedding venues are within walking distance of the town.
the recovery is in brunswick heads – the next town up the coast – but we are arranging a shuttle bus to take guests from byron to brunswick heads and back.
if your flight arrives into brisbane it may be more convenient to hire a car as driving is the fastest way to byron bay from brisbane.
the vibe is pretty relaxed, so you’re welcome to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
if you’d like more inspiration than that, we’re thinking cocktail style dresses, or shirts with no tie. maybe even a light jacket if that’s your style.
Please dress for the weather though – it’s likely to be hot!
please wear whatever goes with your outfit, but keep in mind that the ceremony will be on the beach.
if You’re not comfortable going barefoot on on the sand, you may wish to bring a pair of thongs (flip flops) to wear for that portion of the day.
at the reception, We’re having a shared style meal with dishes in the centre of the table.
please let us know if you have any allergies (or if there are foods you really don’t like!) so that we can take your preferences into account in advance.
at the recovery we’re provding a selection of pizza, prawns and other shared food, but the brunswick kitchen will also have their menu available so all dietaries can be catered for on the day.
the weather is likely to be quite warm & humid. February is the middle of summer in australia and the hottest month in byron bay. it may also be raining (it rains in byron an average of 11 days each february!)
Please dress to stay cool. Perhaps also check with your accommodation whether they can provide umbrellas so you don’t get stuck in the rain!
